For the past four mornings, severe back (upper) pain has woken me up hours before my alarm. I'm pretty sure it's because of my increasing size and posture. It's so difficult to stand/sit up straight with a big belly. When I'm sleeping, I have my body pillow in between my legs. Last night I tried propping both of my knees up on the body pillow and it helped but it was hard to stay in that position while sleeping.
The advantage of waking up early is that I get to spend extra time with Brandon. He got back from the gym around 6 am and I had already been awake for a while. We ate breakfast together and cleaned up the kitchen before getting ready for the day. Since I was off yesterday I was able to catch an early nap from 8-10 am. Of course my back woke me up from my nap. I just wish I could take a nap today but I have to go to work. (Only 52 more days!)
Looks like I will be calling the OB soon. Maybe they will clear me to see a chiropractor. I've got to do something because I desperately need a full night's sleep to make it through the day at work!
After two years of trying to conceive including: my husband's battle with Testicular Cancer, a Uterine Septum requiring two surgeries, Stage II Endometriosis, three HSGs, one SIS, one failed IUI cycle(Chemical Pregnancy), one IVF cycle cancelled by Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), and one Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) cycle- we triumphed over infertility and delivered our first child on May 21, 2013. We are currently expecting an unexpected miracle baby in May 2015.
My friend had back pain throughout and she got to see a chirpractor. You could also try a prenatal massage. I hope your back feels better soon; I know it's frustrating when you can't sleep!!!!
ReplyDeleteHoping you are able to get some much needed sleep soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm using the Boppy prenatal pillow and I highly recommend it! That and my maternity SI support band have saved my life! I understand your pain.
