I apologize for not posting yesterday. Once I got home, I cooked dinner for Rachel and Clint. Rachel spent the night with me since B is still out of town. I slept so well last night just knowing I wasn't alone in the house! =)
Dr. Houserman performed my HSG. It hurt! They had prescribed a Valium for me to take prior to the procedure. I took it too soon at my last appointment, so I took it later this time. (It never kicked in until AFTER the appointment). I dissolved an Ativan under my tongue and it helped relax me a little. I'm a weenie when it comes to having all of these tests. My severe pelvic pain makes most of the procedures almost unbearable. Thankfully it was over quickly and I only cried for about three minutes. It was evident from the x-ray that the septum is still there. =( Dr. Houserman said that she thought it was alright to move forward with IVF. I wish that the septum had been completely removed! I will not let myself get upset or hopeful until I talk to Dr. Allemand. He should be back in the office next week so I will leave message to see what he says about the results.
After two years of trying to conceive including: my husband's battle with Testicular Cancer, a Uterine Septum requiring two surgeries, Stage II Endometriosis, three HSGs, one SIS, one failed IUI cycle(Chemical Pregnancy), one IVF cycle cancelled by Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), and one Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) cycle- we triumphed over infertility and delivered our first child on May 21, 2013. We are currently expecting an unexpected miracle baby in May 2015.

I'm so sorry, honey... We're here if you need us.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz. I'm just disappointed. I wish that the septum was completely gone! I won't know anything more until next week.
DeleteAnd for the record, my mom is an amazing cook no matter what our boss says! He told me if our dinner wasn't good then I had to fake that it was...I told him that wouldn't happen! And of course my work mommy cooked an AMAZING southern dinner just the way I like it! And she even made homemade strawberry shortcake which was delicious!!! And we finished off the night watching our favorite show together The Walking Dead!!
ReplyDelete-Love your "daughter", Rachel
You're the best "daughter!" Thank you for staying with me last night!! =)
DeleteI just wanted to post (again) and say thanks for the update. I read your blog regularly. I had my laparoscopy for septum removal almost 2 weeks ago. My septum was still there after 2 hysteroscopies! I just wanted to say again thanks for blogging and being an inspiration. I found out at my last visit that only my right tube works; the left has been deformed from birth...so we are TTC again but down a tube :) Good luck with everything from here on out. I'm adding you to my prayer list.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your support! I'm very interested to see what Dr. Allemand is going to say next week. Brandon and I are both excited to begin IVF, but only if he thinks it's ok.
ReplyDeleteHow are you feeling two weeks out? I'm sorry about the issues with your left tube. IF is so unpredictable.
Ugh I am sorry about the less than stellar results, but at least you got the go ahead for IVF! That is good news! Hoping only the best for you!

Thanks, Trisha! I'm so ready to talk to my DR next week. I'm hoping he gives us the green light as well! =) I'm ready to "get the ball rolling" on our IVF cycle! =)
DeleteHey there From ICLW!!!
ReplyDelete1I had my HSG yesterday, and I agree it hurt, however I am a bit jealous that you got valium!
Hi Amy! Thanks for the support! They gave me Valium for my pelvic pain. I've had INTENSE pelvic pain for about 5 years now that makes sex and wearing tampons unbearable. I can barely stomach pelvic exams and ultrasound monitoring. The Valium was supposed to relax me, but it never took effect! =(
