20 Weeks (Halfway Point) and Bumpdate

How many weeks:
20 Weeks
Halfway There
(in terms of a textbook 40 week pregnancy)

How big is Ellie:
The size of a banana
Ellie weighs almost a whole pound now!

Maternity Clothes:
Love them!  I couldn't imagine trying to wear any of my normal pants right now.  I've still got a few sweater dresses that fit, but wearing leggings is difficult.  My closet is now organized by what fits and what does not.

Weight Gain Alert!
138 lbs
Gained this week: 4 lbs
Total Weight Gain:  15 lbs
I ate leftover pizza for breakfast yesterday, lunch TWICE, and Japanese for dinner (Yes, all in one day).  Maybe that has a little to do with my dramatic weight gain for this week.
*My appetite is growing as each day passes!*

Movement:
Ellie is becoming more and more active.  I feel her moving all day long while I'm at work.  She feels like she's doing flips and kicking a lot.

Food Cravings:
Little Debbie Cosmic Brownies!
I love my orange juice in the mornings.

Food Aversions:
Still nothing I cannot stand, but I'm extremely particular on what I do eat.
I think I have more aversions to smells.  If something smells bad it makes me feel sick.  Some good smells that are overpowering also make me feel yucky.

Gender:

GIRL

Ellie in my Belly
Symptoms:
Fatigue- especially in the afternoon, occasional headaches, breathlessness, full feeling all the time, frequent urination, healthy appetite, movement and kicks from Ellie, sore and swolen breasts, stretchy feeling in abdomen, backache during the day and while sleeping, hot  flashes, pregnancy brain, clumsiness, some dizziness, and my belly button looks different each week!

Sleep:
This Mom turns into a pumpkin around 9 pm each night.  It doesn't take long at all until I'm out like a light.  When I move in my sleep, I can feel Ellie kicking me.  I've also tried limiting my fluids around bedtime to cut back on nighttime trips to the potty.  As soon as I'm awake, my bladder is FULL!

What do I miss:
Nothing!  Well, I miss being able to put on socks easily.  I feel like I'm squishing her when I'm putting socks on each morning.  I can imagine that it will only get more difficult from here.

Best moment of the week:
Feeling her move and kick more.  Also, I'm more noticeably pregnant and the customers have all commented that I look great.  I was called beautiful by one (older) man and another said that I'm only big in my tummy.
We've also started working on her room, and it's been so much fun.  We're thankful that we started early enough that there's no rush, and we can enjoy the moments together painting her room.

Also, cutting caffeine back out of my daily routine.  There was no way I was going to make it through Christmas without a pick-me-up.  I only had a few coffees from Starbucks, but definitely abused Coke and Dr. Pepper.  Things have slowed back to normal at work and I should be able to safely avoid caffeine as an energy source for the duration of the pregnancy.

What am I looking forward to:
I'm super excited to be 20 weeks pregnant now.  This pregnancy is moving quickly and is now halfway complete.
Also, I'm thrilled about getting closer to the Third Trimester!  Ellie will be here with us in the blink of an eye.
*My birthday is also quickly approaching!*

Milestones:
After having some time off from work, Ellie and I are getting back in the swing of things.  She is very active during the day and seems to like working with Mommy.

"Ellie's uterus is now formed and holds seven million primitive eggs."
from What to Expect When You're Expecting

*Prayers that my precious daughter's uterus is "bright and shiny" with no septum or other issues!  I may be exaggerating, but I pray that Ellie never has trouble building her family like we did.*
