I thought I would post about something other than infertility and being pregnant. It sometimes takes over my life, but I have so many other things going on, promise!
So- you may call me crazy, but I am already 75% finished with shopping for Christmas. I know, some of you may think I'm nuts, but December is a LONG month for me. See, I work in a pretty popular jewelry store in Alabaster. We sell lots of sparkly pieces of jewelry along with PANDORA jewelry. WE STAY BUSY!
Last year, I was bringing my last minute purchases to the store to have Sarah help me wrap each morning and evening when we weren't open for business. (I start buying early each year, but still end up with last minute gifts). I was so glad to have a sweet friend willing to help me wrap my packages, but it was stressful too. This year, I began shopping in July. Each year, I'm sure that I bite off more than I can chew. Brandon and I love to buy gifts for not only our families, but our friends as well. I'm pretty sure than I'm buying for over 50 people easily this year! With that being said, I had to get started early. I urge all of you to set aside a budget and some time to get started before December. It's so much nicer to feel less stressed about the crowds and not waiting until the last minute.
So, here's a glimpse into my OCD-Type A-people pleaser lifestyle. It's mid-September and I have packages ready to place under a tree. =)
After two years of trying to conceive including: my husband's battle with Testicular Cancer, a Uterine Septum requiring two surgeries, Stage II Endometriosis, three HSGs, one SIS, one failed IUI cycle(Chemical Pregnancy), one IVF cycle cancelled by Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), and one Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) cycle- we triumphed over infertility and delivered our first child on May 21, 2013. We are currently expecting an unexpected miracle baby in May 2015.
Honestly, I am the same way! I haven't gotten much done yet this year because my hubby hates when I but early. He doesn't think we should shop until after Thanksgiving....that is way to late in my opinion. But, I think I am going to compromise this year and at least wait until after Halloween. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! I was the same way last year. I bet next year when you've got a new baby (or babies) you may not be QUITE on top of it. But, I hope you are! I'm sad I only have ONE gift sitting up in the "gift closet." Thanks for the reminder that I need to get going on this!
ReplyDeleteI wish I was that organized! We're starting to take the easy way out and just get gifts for kids and then make a donation to a charity in our friends and family's names.
ReplyDeleteI laughed when you mentioned a few months ago that you had started Christmas shopping. I am such a darn procrastinator when it comes to that stuff.
ReplyDeleteI too am almost finished with my Christmas shopping. BTW, I found your blog through ICLW; I forgot to sign up for it this month like usual. LOL.
ReplyDeleteAhh so jealous you're done already!! Although Christmas is my favorite kind of year so I don't mind doing it over these next few months, too much :)
ReplyDeleteI buy for a lot of people every year for Christmas too. But with our IVF expenses this year, I'm considering cutting back. I just love giving gifts to others so we'll see if I actually do cut back or not. ;)
